Originally made from cast iron, these 350mm x 450mm much loved Scottish characters; "Tam O'Shanter and Souter Johnnie" from the poems of Robert Burns are less than 12% of the weight of the originals, making them easier to hang on internal and external walls as per their design.
Castings can be pigmented to any British standard or RAL colour or even in metallic finishes to replicate traditional materials.
Unfortunately the original casting mould is long gone, and Capvond were commissioned by a group of Burns enthusiasts to recreate these two Ayrshire icons, in order that they were now once more available to adorn the walls of "Burnsians" worldwide.
Cast Composite busts like these ones of Robert Burns himself, can be manufactured in most stone, granite and metalic colours.
A fraction of the weight of traditional materials, and with a porosity of 0.2% which will eliminate water damage, all our Cast Composite mouldings are durable in indoor and outdoor situations.
